CURE at UCLA aims to expose undergraduates to cutting-edge research conducted both locally and abroad, and provides opportunities to learn more about various career paths within the sciences. Interactive research symposiums led by invited scientists allow students to not only discover what is being done across all scientific disciplines, but also learn success tips and advice from the scientific authorities in these fields.
Career development workshops will also provide students insight into careers in academia, industry medicine/healthcare, forensics, and government/policy. Open discussions of hot-topics in science moderated by the student coordinators will enable studnets to discuss ideas and current developments in research. Lastly, peer mentoring will be provided to help individuals along their respective career paths and also find a lab that best suits their interests and goals.
